Safeguarding

Safeguarding is defined as protecting children from maltreatment, preventing impairment of health and/or development, ensuring that children grow up in the provision of safe and effective care and optimising children’s life chances. All staff undergo child protection screening appropriate to the post, including checks with past employers and the Disclosure and Barring Service.

The Designated Safeguarding Leads are the Headteacher, the Assistant Headteacher and the SENCO.

These policies form part of a suite of documents and policies which relate to the safeguarding responsibilities of Purwell School.
